We’re working with a growing Principal Contractor based in York who are looking to appoint either an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, or a Quantity Surveyor ready to step up into a more senior role.

With around five years in operation, this business has developed a strong reputation delivering high-quality projects across the retail, hospitality, education, and commercial sectors. Their workload covers a range of fit-out, construction, and services projects, and they’re now looking to strengthen their commercial team as part of their next growth phase.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company where you’ll be trusted, valued, and given room to grow—all within a small, collaborative team environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Managing the full commercial lifecycle of multiple live projects

  • Overseeing cost planning, valuations, variations, and final accounts

  • Supporting project teams to ensure jobs are delivered within budget

  • Contributing to the wider growth of the business, with the potential to mentor an assistant QS in 2025

What They’re Looking For:

  • Experience in a Quantity Surveyor role (or already operating at Senior level)

  • Confident managing diverse projects across fit-out, build, and services

  • Able to handle multiple projects at once with strong commercial awareness

  • A real team player – collaboration and communication are key in this tight-knit setup

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, growing business where your role can evolve
