My client is a leading fit-out specialist based in Brighton, delivering bespoke, high-quality projects across the retail, hospitality, leisure, and healthcare sectors. With a growing portfolio of exciting projects and clients, they are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team.

Key Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with the experienced project and commercial teams, supporting the cost management of fit-out projects from inception to completion. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
- Supporting the evaluation of project costs and providing accurate estimates
- Monitoring project costs and maintaining budget control
- Working with suppliers, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth delivery of projects
- Measuring and valuing completed work and assisting in the preparation of interim and final accounts
- Assisting with procurement processes to secure best value on materials and subcontractors
- Helping to prepare financial reports and ensuring clear documentation is maintained
- Supporting the identification and mitigation of project risks
What We’re Looking For:
- Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (desirable but not essential)
- 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within the fit-out or construction sector
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with construction contracts and cost management software is a plus
- Experience or an understanding of the retail, hospitality, leisure, or healthcare sectors is desirable
