Are you looking to kickstart your career in finance? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for learning? We are a dynamic and growing construction company in Shipley, Yorkshire, with an annual turnover of £50m, seeking a Junior Accounts Clerk to join our friendly team.

This is an entry-level role perfect for someone with minimal experience or someone eager to start a career in accounts. You'll primarily be working on the purchase ledger, ensuring that financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely. As you develop, you'll have the opportunity to expand your knowledge and skill set within the accounts department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage purchase ledger entries, including processing invoices and payments
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports
  • Reconcile statements and track supplier accounts
  • Support the accounts team in various administrative tasks
  • Maintain accurate records and files for auditing purposes
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and other departments

What We’re Looking For:

  • A motivated and enthusiastic individual with a strong willingness to learn
  • Some experience in accounts or finance (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately
  • Comfortable working in a team-oriented, open-plan office environment
  • Friendly, sociable personality with the ability to build good working relationships across the business
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
