AutoCAD Technician

Role/Duties

  • Primarily the production of accurate technical layout, detail and section drawings (mostly 2D but occasionally 3D) on behalf of us (relevant AutoCAD training to be provided in-house).
  • Effective management of the technical drawing needs of the business, including the detailed co-ordination of other building services principles utilising drawings received from external contractors and subcontractors.
  • Assisting in the creation and maintenance of drawing templates, dynamic blocks, block palettes, technical documents, etc.
  • Management of drawing registers, document control and addressing changes throughout the delivery phase as necessary for the ultimate inclusion of as fitted drawings for O&M Files.
  • Assisting with the introduction of thermal modelling software (IES/Hevacomp) and helping to create procedures of producing calculations to demonstrate accurate heat gains/losses.
  • Assisting with equipment selection and specification (calculate anticipated duties, ductwork /pipework sizing, grille selections, etc.) and possibly assisting with the procurement of technical details and pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Assisting with site surveys and production of record drawings, equipment schedules and as fitted information.
  • Working alongside and assisting other departments. This will include working alongside the pre-contracts team to ensure that technically accurate tenders are being submitted.
