Junior Quantity Surveyor – Brickwork

A highly sought-after opportunity to work with a well-established brickwork company based out of Enfield who have been established for over 35 years. Due to the amount of work recently won and new projects being taken on, my client has never been busier and they have identified the need for a new trainee Quantity Surveyor.

The successful candidate will have graduated within the last 1-3 years and ideally has some brickwork experience.

This is a full time office based role.

The Duties

Your key responsibilities will include:

• The overall responsibility for the financial performance of the Construction Project.
• Ensuring that applications for payment are made timeously.
• Ensuring that the subcontractors‘ applications are processed timeously.
• Ensure variations are captured and actioned and priced.
• Evaluate contract and sub-contract conditions of contract.
• Procure the services and sub-contract works for the construction project.
• Review, comment and negotiate favourable Contract a Sub-Contract conditions.
• Analyse the Budget and compile into the Construction Phase Interim Valuation format.
• Compile Tenders for the Services and sub-contract works for the project.
• Attendance of Operation Managers launch with site team.
• In conjunction with the Operations / Project manager select the sub-contractors and professionals.
• Assist with applications.
• Attendance to client meetings as required.
• Attendance to site.

 

The Requirements

• Degree within Quantity Surveying
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
